What is it?

A collective of individuals who struggle with nervous system regulation coming together to learn tools for helping your-Self connect with, release and repair the unconscious holdings, patterns, and expressions in your body. This is a trauma-informed, resource and practice focused experience that will empower you to turn towards your body in moments of distress for an efficient and long-lasting positive impact on your mental and physical health.

Somatic practices reconnect us with how to listen to the body and trust our innate intelligence and ability to heal. It is a journey of learning how to work with what is felt and noticed in the body, rather than control, stifle or ignore.

Somatic savvy is a series designed to illuminate the bodymind pathway to stabilize, regulate and integrate. To optimize this connection we must learn the language of the body and retrain the thinking mind to turn towards sensation with an entirely different mental model than what we generally are taught or see modeled. Ultimately, this is integration of left and right brain hemispheres so that we can step out of the contracted and limiting space of a dominant thinking mind that by default is constantly sensing danger and alarm and subsequently perceiving ourselves and the world through danger and alarm. Through this process you will learn how to open back up to your expansive essence that is flexible (i.e. able to shift through the various states of your nervous system), adaptive, present, and that is far greater than the sum of your parts.

Somatic is a term that refers to the body’s subconscious and autonomic (automatic) reactions in the form of sensations, movement, visuals and various other types of communication that generally skips conscious processing. To be Somatic Savvy is to understand and utilize your power to alter your own mood, emotions, beliefs and perspective with practices that culminate as slowing down and listening deeply to release what is stuck in the soma.

This class series is for people who want to learn how to stabilize their emotional, physical, mental and spiritual realms of self. Through participation and practice you will be guided to understand how to increase your emotional resiliency, improve your sense of presence and awareness, cultivate a deep sense of self trust and awe towards your body’s innate intelligence. In doing so, you will enhance the functioning of all of your internal systems.
